PARIS Fashion Week maybe winding down but the catwalk just kept nice surprises in the end.. Three seasons in and Nicolas Ghesquiere is undoubtedly feeling more confident in his Louis Vuitton artistic director role – this a collection that continued to combine that clever blend of savvy, rock ‘n’ roll and retro that so belongs to his girl and bring with it a real sense of him, what he did back in his smash-hit Balenciaga days. THE headline at yesterday afternoon’s Valentino show – or rather the Instagram moment that has become the staple of many a show this season – was Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson closing the show, reprising their Zoolander roles. This was a real (but also fantasy) catwalk-off. The crowd went wild, the phones came out and fingers couldn’t snap and type fast enough as a fashion fiction became reality and made everyone’s day in the process. Continue Reading…
Alexander McQueen, Autumn – Winter 2015-16 Collection
March 11, 2015Last night’s show, staged at the Conciergerie in Paris, the vaulted chambers where Marie Antoinette was imprisoned before being beheaded, and, for those who can remember, the venue for Lee McQueen’s first show in Paris thirteen years ago, where models walked with wolves on leashes, examined the beauty of those roses.
