The GRAND COUTURIER Stéphane Rolland Haute Couture returns his presentation to the runway format for his Spring/Summer 2015 collection. And he does this in his usual dramatic style.
Glimpses…!
Zuhair Murad showcased his Spring/Summer 2015 collection at the Palais de Tokyo, infusing pastel as well as metallics like gold and silver into his dresses. It was chic seduction as usual, with lace now an integral part of the Lebanese designer show pieces, which included full-length evening gowns but also knee-length gowns.

“…A beautiful memory of Beirut often visits me in a dream. A loving, giving and tolerant Beirut. A glamorous one too. A beautiful memory that never ceased to inspire me – that inspired this collection. This is a tribute to the city that I love. My Beirut. Looking back at the eventful history of Lebanon, through its flourishing periods and its downfalls, I feel hopeful, I feel grateful….” Elie Saab

As expected design duo Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Picciolo kept the overall vibe romantic and put the custom hand-detailing emphasis into Haute Couture week, with a collection that spoke to the design house’s revered heritage. Opening with looks that mixed folklore and fine art, alpine florals met baroque collars and cuffs and embroidery was everywhere. With hair crowned in loose braids tucked with wildflowers, skin left dewey and eyes wide, models channeled natural beauty of Botticelli’s Primavera, letting the intricacy of the ensembles resonate.

See the Best Looks by Prada Pre-Fall 2015 Runway
Introducing the Class of Pre-Fall 2015: A bunch of quasi-high-school-girl students wearing more-or-less school uniform marched determinedly around Prada headquarters with their male classmates. Frankly, with their ugly-cool hair, scraped up and over into side-pinned ponytails, and their freakishly morphed array of tread-soled duck-shoes\trainers\brogues, this does not present as a coquettish-kind-of-a-year group. Frippery and flattery? Not here. Except for the odd, flattened grosgrain bow and a slyly sexy bared back, these clothes are old-school regulation Prada: Sober pleated pinafore dresses and utilitarian-classic coats. In other words: The brainchildren of Prof. Miuccia Prada’s philosophical studies into the similarities and differences between men’s and women’s clothes. Continue Reading…
While Burton spins out the McQueen signatures which must always be in the collection—the biker jacket, this time with a giant fold-over shearling collar, falling almost like a cape, the chunky Aran knit, the exquisite evening dress, this one with William Morris–like flocking on black lace—it’s tempting to try to guess what she might be taking from this line to develop for fall proper. No designer is actually going to tell you that in advance, but as a guess—or rather, an outright wish—could a softer romanticism, rather than gothic drama, be on the verge of breaking through?
