Valentino Autumn – Winter 2015-16 Ready to Wear

THE headline at yesterday afternoon’s Valentino show – or rather the Instagram moment that has become the staple of many a show this season – was Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson closing the show, reprising their Zoolander roles. This was a real (but also fantasy) catwalk-off. Chanel BAGS, Autumn – Winter 2015-16

IF there is one thing that we beauty fanatics love, it’s a supersized or miniature version of one of our favourite products. We can’t explain it, it’s just the way it is. So, the item that captured our attention at Chanel’s brasserie-themed autumn/winter 2015 show at Paris Fashion Week was a chain-strap bag shaped exactly like a giant version of the brand’s much-loved Les Beiges compact – remember the furore that the Chanel No.5 version from the  pre-spring/summer 2014 show caused?

With a multimillion pound budget, Karl Lagerfeld transformed the Grand Palais into the chicest – and largest – of Parisian cafes, complete with mosaic tiled floor – OK, it actually turned out to be printed vinyl, but this is a cafe after all, wipe clean is important. Giorgio Armani Autumn- Winter 2015-16 Ready to Wear

THIS morning in Milan, Giorgio Armani introduced us to a new skirt/trouser hybrid happening. Call it the Skouser, quite simply a wrap-around skirt layered over a pair of slim-fitting trousers, except it wasn’t layered, it was entirely made up of one piece, with the front hemline of the skirt actually morphing into the trouser leg. It was a new one on us, and quite possibly the world.
