“La modernite de l’Antiquite” was a total hymn, dedicated to the Greek Mythology and the mystique Beauty of ancient Greek Goddesses.

The Legendary Karl Lagerfeld was  highly inspired from the Greek temperament of the past eras and made  with his own magical way a unique  collection,  flood in the fascination of another side of glamour, the one that is  based on the awe of  pure simplicity.

A case for the Greek goddess…

Anyone who watched this show on the 26th of January, in Paris,  left dreaming of Olympus, the wistfulness heightened by the fact that the new straight silhouette looked so easy to wear: long, languorous and demure, and worn with flat sandals, it transmitted such stark, stunning purity that it made almost every other show on the couture schedule look excessively laboured.

Chanel Spring-Summer 2017, Couture Collection

One of the most anticipated fashion shows took place under the vast glass dome of the Grand Palais,  where Karl Lagerfeld had imagined a theatrical set as designed by Thirties designer-of-the-day Syrie Maugham. The black glass floor reflected a pleating of mirrored panels and the decorations were tall glass urns of sculptural calla lilies – mimicking the white of the sofas always used by Maugham. It was an elegant backdrop for a show that offered a classic Chanel couture.

Christian Dior, Spring Summer 2017, Couture Collection

Last night , at the garden of Paris’s Rodin Museum,Maria Grazia Chiuri presented her first couture collection at the Legendary house’s ateliers,  Dior’s .  In her spring/summer ready-to-wear debut the designer had utilised Dior’s catwalk to display feminism and natural beauty with  dresses  by no means only for nymphs and would serve any woman well on a red carpet, for a wedding, or simply at a marvellous party.
